Cardio Kids
We are starting up a new "club" at Regency, so that our 10, 11 and 12 year olds can get involved in the exercise activities at the club. This is like a step up from the Nursery but a step short of "full usage". You can enroll your "kid" in the club by checking for information at the Front Desk or asking a member of our Membership Team for details.
Here are a few of the information points:
- Cardio Kids may workout at the following times:
7PM-10PM on Monday through Thursday
3PM-9PM on Friday
1PM-5PM on Saturday and Sunday - Cardio Kids can only utilize cardiovascular equipment (no weight lifting allowed: no free weights - no machines)
- Cardio Kids can be 10, 11 or 12 years old (at age 13 they can meet with a trainer, get training on weight lifting safety, and then lift on their own if they pass)
- Cardio Kids must FIRST be trained by a Regency trainer on the CV equipment before they use it for the first time
- Cardio Kids MUST have a parent present on the same floor whenever they are using the CV equipment
- Cardio Kids CANNOT incline the treadmills (these are to be used only in a level position)
- Cardio Kids can only employ speeds up to 4 mph on the treadmills
- Cardio Kids using the elliptical machines CANNOT use the movable swinging arms
- Cardio Kids can only use a piece of CV equipment for 30 minutes maximum
- Cardio Kids must be added to their parents membership, and they will receive their own membership card
As you can see, while this is an excellent opportunity for kids to use the equipment, Regency has also placed sound limitations on the usage to insure the safety of everyone.
